Ellerman City Liners’ new trans-Atlantic service begins calling JAXPORT

Jan 03, 2023

The first vessel in U.K.-based Ellerman City Liners' trans-Atlantic service made its inaugural call to the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) recently. JAXPORT representatives presented a plaque to the crew of the container ship SC Mona Lisa to recognize the ship’s maiden voyage to Jacksonville.

Ellerman City Liners offers direct container service to/from three destinations in Europe to the SSA Jacksonville Container Terminal at JAXPORT’s Blount Island Marine Terminal.

The bi-weekly service offers premium transit times of 13 to 17 days from North Europe to Jacksonville. The port rotation is Antwerp, Belgium; Rotterdam, Netherlands; Tilbury, England; New York, NY; Wilmington, NC; and Jacksonville, Fla.

“We are thrilled Ellerman City Liners chose Jacksonville for their first trans-Atlantic service to the United States, providing efficient transit times with Europe,” said JAXPORT's Chief Commercial Officer Robert Peek. “We look forward to growing this partnership with Ellerman and opening new business opportunities for our state and region through increased connections in this trade lane.”

The service moves a variety of consumer goods through JAXPORT, such as auto parts, clothing, and wine and spirits, while providing export capabilities for made-in-U.S. goods, including forest products.
