Elise Ferguson Appointed to General Manager of Ceres Terminals Canadian Operations

Ceres Terminals Incorporated appointed Elise Ferguson as General Manager of Canadian Operations on June 26, 2023. Ms. Ferguson previously held the position of Stevedoring Manager, in Vancouver, along with multiple roles and responsibilities throughout the company. With an extensive background in cruise operations, Elise is no stranger to the waterfront industry.

Elise started her career in March 2006 in Vancouver, Canada, servicing one of the world's major cruise lines at the port. Starting with the Canadian Naval Reserves, 18 years as a Port Operations Manager for Princess Cruises in both Vancouver and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and currently with Ceres Terminals. Since working at Ceres, the Vancouver team has serviced 3600 vessel calls and 12,250,000 passengers.

During the 2020 pandemic, the Ceres Vancouver team opened and operated vaccine clinics at the port to help provide medical care to the surrounding community. Elise played an important role in organizing and operating the clinics, along with planning and preparing the cruise lines' return to port.

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is the federal agency responsible for the stewardship of the lands and waters that make up the Port of Vancouver, Canada’s largest port. Trade through the Port of Vancouver connects Canadian businesses and consumers with the variety of products that we use every day from markets across the globe, and generates tax revenues and secure employment for local communities. Ceres Terminals manages the cruise terminal and provides stevedoring services for RoRo vessels.

Prior to starting on the waterfront, Ms. Ferguson spent six years living and working in Spain as a Tour and Travel Guide for a Scandinavian and British Travel Company. A lifelong learner, having amassed a number of certifications and several designations, Elise is a leader and inspiration for women in maritime. She has leveraged natural curiosity and self-improvement skills to become a specialist in human connection and deepening relationship building that has generated breakthrough opportunities. Ceres Terminals is delighted to have Elise as General Manager as the company looks forward to what the future holds for the Canadian cruise operations.
