Hapag Lloyd is reporting that on the MV ITAL LIRICA (Voyage 106W), deployed in the South Africa Asia Express 1 (SA1) Service, a crew member tested positive for Covid-19 while the vessel was on the way from Ningbo to Singapore.
As a safety measure, the vessel is currently at anchorage near Hong Kong.
Together with our partners, we are currently evaluating the potential impact on vessel and cargo operations. Berthing dates for the subsequent ports of the rotation will be adjusted accordingly.
We regret any inconvenience caused by this incident which is obviously beyond our control. We assure you that we are doing our utmost to come to a timely resolution. We very much ask for your patience and understanding.
During this unprecedented crisis many of our crew members already work much longer than originally planned. We very much value and appreciate their hard and passionate work – and we are very sure that you will join us in wishing a speedy recovery for the crew member affected.
