London, UK – Agency Sector Management (ASM) has appointed Ray Beeks, Operations Manager of Concordia International Forwarding to its Board of Directors replacing Brian Drakeley who has retired.
Drakeley was fundamental in shaping ASM into the company that it is today with more than 20 years' experience on the Board, he was one of ASM's longest standing Directors.
“It’s a privilege to be part of the team and I am excited to be associated with ASM who have been respected throughout the industry for many years,” said Beeks.
“I am hoping to help play a part in ASM finding resolutions for the future challenges our industry faces.”
Beeks said he is particularly interested in the problems and solutions to the current issues of Customs Declaration Service (CDS) and Brexit.
“ASM is crucial to freight forwarders in these uncertain times and is seen as a vital supportive partner in the past, present and future.
“ASM can positively help the industry and supply chain by continuing to be at the forefront of software solutions, the organisation also provides links to government organisations and new rules and regulations that would be missed greatly if it was not available.”
In his role at Concordia, he oversees the day-to-day running of the London operation and External Transit Shed Facility (ETSF) along with continual improvement to the global freight forwarder’s product and staff knowledge.
“We are delighted to welcome Ray as a Director and look forward to having his knowledge and expertise on the ASM team,” said Peter MacSwiney, ASM Chairman.
“A big thank you to Brian for all his work and insight as a director at ASM and we wish him a happy retirement.”
Concordia uses ASM’s Sequoia Customs clearance platform.
"The user-friendly system has been of great benefit for many years and has saved the company many hours of manpower over the years," said Beeks.
