CMA-CGM: TYRREX - Move to Augusta port in Sicily

Mar 01, 2024

Effective at the end of March 2024, all CMA CGM Group activity will move from the terminal in Catania, Sicily to the nearby port of Augusta. The local Port Authority (covering Catania, Augusta & Pozallo) has decided to terminate container activity at the Catania terminal and relocate all activity for all container carriers to their terminal at Augusta.

The final call on the TYRREX service in Catania is currently planned to be ensured by m/v "ARA Amsterdam" on March 14th, 2024. Future calls will be in Augusta (location code ITAUG) which is located about 35km South of Catania on the motorway axis connecting the main Sicilian routes.

The new container terminal will offer an increased capacity as well as improved marine access and upgraded yard equipment, including an expanded reefer plug capacity.
