Closing of navigation 2021 – Changes in dates for the Montreal- Lake Ontario section

Mariners are advised that the cut-off dates for acceptance of ship transits through the Montreal-Lake Ontario section under special agreement have been extended as follows:

  • any ship calling in upbound at CIP2 or downbound at Cape Vincent after 23:59 hours December 24th , 2021, but BEFORE 08:00 hours December 30th, 2021, may be accepted to transit the Montreal to Lake Ontario section, under special agreement, operating conditions permitting;
  • Any ship calling in upbound at CIP2 after 16:00 December 29th, 2021, but before 08:00 December 30th, 2021, will be subject to the addendum to the special agreement for the Montreal-Lake Ontario Section;
  • Any ship calling in downbound at Cape Vincent after 12:00 December 29th, 2021, but before 08:00 December 30th, 2021, will be subject to the addendum to the special agreement for the Montreal-Lake Ontario Section.
  • All ships must be clear of the Montreal-Lake Ontario Section at 12:00 hours (noon) January 1, 2022.
