CIRCLE Group & Vasanda: New strategic alliance for the development of maritime, ports and intermodal innovative projects in the UK

May 20, 2021

Circle S.p.A., (“Circle” or the “Company”), company heading the homonymous Group specialized in the analysis and development of automation and digitalization solutions for port and intermodal logistics sectors, listed on the AIM Italia market organized and managed by Borsa Italiana, signed today a new alliance with Vasanda, company based in London aiming to set the standard in sustainability screening through its EcoSphere MRV solution which uses scientifically verifiable data to deliver concise impact data reporting.

The agreement resulted from synergistic and complementary activities carried out by Circle and Vasanda that will address specific vertical initiatives and innovative projects in the maritime and intermodal sector in the UK.

The cooperation between the two companies will point to port optimization through a focus on six main areas: Last mile optimization and Digital Twin, Digital customs procedures, Data driven maritime intelligence, Free zone and Inland connections, International Fast and Secure Trade Lane (IoT) & Maritime Pre-Clearing and Rail & Intermodality.

Luca Abatello, President & CEO at Circle explained: “The strategic alliance with Vasanda will allow Circle Group to grow the business by developing on the side of a valuable local partner new initiatives specifically targeted to the British market and, in particular, to logistics and the port sector”.

Philip Lilliefelth, co-founder & CEO of Vasanda, stated: “Circle’s port community technologies and advanced automated customs procedures were key highlights for this strategic partnership, which presents an exciting opportunity for Vasanda to extend its sustainability screening capa-bilities to the port community.”

Finally, this also links to the strong changes occurring in the UK and to the increased need of local entities to mitigate, with new digitalizing tools, the effects coming from the forthcoming end of the post-Brexit transition period, especially in terms of customs procedures.
