Milan market, heading the eponymous Group specialised in process analysis and the development of solutions for the innovation and digitalisation of the port and intermodal logistics sectors, as well as in international consulting on Green Deal and energy transition matters – announces that eXyond, a Group company, has been selected by Interporto Centro Ingrosso di Pordenone S.p.A. to develop an advanced digital system for managing, monitoring, and tracking the export and transit movements of goods at the Pordenone freight village and the intermodal terminal, in accordance with the national eFTI and e-CMR standards.
The initiative concerns Gate 3—the entrance to the intermodal terminal—and aims to make the passage of incoming and outgoing vehicles more efficient and automated, improving visibility into operations and gradually reducing manual tasks.
The solution automatically recognizes and records vehicles and cargo units in transit—such as containers, semi-trailers, and swap bodies—collecting the information needed to verify authorizations, monitor movements, and support terminal staff in the day-to-day management of operations.
A central element of the architecture is the GOS—Gate Operating System—a digital platform that collects and organizes transit data, provides an up-to-date view of traffic flows, and interfaces with the terminal’s existing information systems. In this way, the information collected at the gate can be shared more quickly and in a more structured manner with other operational platforms, facilitating more integrated management of the terminal.
The project also includes the implementation of advanced features for interacting with drivers via lane kiosks, badges, QR code readers, touchscreen monitors, and printers for issuing receipts and operational information, contributing to the gradual digitization of the street-side entry and exit
points.
The project also enables interoperability with the eFTI (and to extend e-CMR) platforms, promoting the digitalization of transport information and connectivity with eFTI Italy, in line with evolving European regulations and the goals of improving the efficiency of the logistics and intermodal supply chain.
“Interporto Pordenone’s priority is to ensure that the intermodal terminal and the entire interport area are increasingly well-equipped with infrastructure and capable of meeting the needs of logistics operators. Our partnership with eXyond and Circle Group guarantees professionalism and the ability to equip our facility with all the innovation needed to meet the needs of industry operators.” – said Sergio Bolzonello, CEO of Interporto Centro Ingrosso di Pordenone S.p.A.
“The project with Interporto Centro Ingrosso di Pordenone confirms the dynamism of the intermodal network in northeastern Italy, of UIR as well as Circle Group’s role—through eXyond—in developing concrete solutions for the automation and digitization of logistics hubs. Making access points smarter and more connected means increasing efficiency, operational safety, and the ability to communicate among the various players in the logistics chain, in line with the Connect 4 Agile Growth business plan,” said Luca Abatello, CEO of Circle Group.
