The protection of workers is the goal of maritime safety and is taken seriously across the industry. The Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) recently released the Coast Accident Prevention Award-Winners for 2022 and Ceres was among the winners. These awards were given to the companies who place safety at the forefront of their business activities.
PMA sponsors an annual accident prevention awards program as part of the coastwide industry accident prevention program. To qualify, member companies must participate in the PMA safety program and report all OSHA-recordable occupational injuries and illnesses and applicable man-hours for the previous year.
Ceres team in Stockton, California, won three PMA Coast Accident Prevention Awards.
“I am proud of our team in Stockton who have focused on creating a zero-incident environment and accident prevention safeguards,” said Victor Thomas, Vice President of Safety, Security and Environment at Ceres Terminals. “Safe operational execution drives sound production and keeps everyone protected at the same time. At Ceres, Safety is our number one value.”
As North America’s premier terminal operating company, the safety and health of all employees is a major concern at Ceres. Recognizing the value of providing clear communication and safeguards to protect the workplace is the focus. Ceres congratulates the team in Stockton who won the recent PMA Coast Accident Prevention Awards.
PMA is an association consisting of over 70 ocean carriers and terminal operators, operating in 29 West Coast Ports. The membership of the PMA consists of domestic carriers, international carriers and stevedores that operate in California, Oregon and Washington. Ceres Terminals is a proud member of the Pacific Maritime Association and leader among marine terminal operators in North America.
