Bolloré Logistics Canada launches its first 100% electric truck

Jun 01, 2022

Bolloré Logistics Canada has launched its first fully electric truck for local deliveries in Montréal. This new 100% electric truck travels 200 km a day, 5 days a week, to ensure the last mile delivery from the company’s warehouse in Montreal to various locations within the region.

Every week, about twenty containers are received from Asia and Europe and transferred to the Bolloré Logistics Montreal’s warehouse for deconsolidation purposes. The electric truck does the milk run for a large variety of clients that have cargo arriving in these consolidations, including major brands in the cosmetics and luxury industries.

This new solution meets customer expectations in terms of eco-responsible solutions. Locally manufactured by Lion Electric, a manufacturing company of zero-emission vehicles, it offers a reduction of 60 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2eq) per year, the equivalent of 1,000 growing trees.

Patrick Lafrance, CEO Bolloré Logistics Canada, said: “We are proud to be a CSR pioneer in the Canadian logistics industry. This investment is a proof of our strong commitment for sustainable solutions and aligns with the Group’s vision of creating environmentally-friendly transport solutions for our clients”.

Through this new initiative, Bolloré Logistics Canada also contributes to the company’s goal of reducing its CO2 emissions from transport services delivered to its customers by 30% by 2030 in line with its “Powering Sustainable Logistics” CSR program.
