Blue Water enters Trinidad

Feb 24, 2020

To further increase the service to the Oil and Energy sector in the Caribbean, Blue Water Shipping opens office in Trinidad & Tobago

International transport and logistics company Blue Water Shipping has serviced the global Oil and Energy industry for decades. Focus is to provide solutions of high quality and efficiency – and to be present at the key locations of the industry. The growing development of oil and gas in the Caribbean and the north-eastern region of South America has resulted in Blue Water opening an office in Trinidad & Tobago.

“We see a growing demand for our services in this region, and it is a natural step for us to open office in Trinidad, as it makes us able to service both existing and new customers with our wide range of logistics services. Especially, we will focus on complete project management of transport and logistics, as we hold a strong experience in this field,” states Brent Patterson, Blue Water’s Regional Director for Energy & Projects Americas.

Last month Blue Water announced the opening of another office in the region – in Guyana. Blue Water has thereby put extra efforts into gaining a solid position in this emerging market, which the company already has been servicing for a few years.

“We have been involved in a number of different energy and project-related transport and logistics assignments in the region in recent years. We are proud that our global expertise and experience have resulted in successful execution of these projects, as it shows that our set-up is flexible and reliable”, states Brent Patterson.

From the offices in Guyana and in Trinidad, Blue Water’s staff will focus on maintaining and increasing the current client base. This will be done in close collaboration with other Blue Water offices specialised in project transport.

Blue Water will also cooperate with Peterson Logistics in Guyana and Trinidad. Petersen has a strong presence in the Caribbean, supporting their customers with integrated logistics from offices in Trinidad, Guyana and Surinam, with a local staff of over 150.

“This partnership with Blue Water Shipping will ensure that our customers will benefit from fully embedded local services that are delivered according to international standards. Collectively we will utilise our strategic expertise and advanced technology to deliver the best possible solutions for our clients”, states Maarten Spiljard, Regional Director at Peterson Logistics.

Brent Patterson is also looking forward to the cooperation “With joint forces we will be able to provide the high-quality transport and logistics services that the industry requires. Both companies have a strong mindset on creating the right solutions for each customer, and by bringing our diversified range of in-house experts and experience together, we can manage and execute projects in the Caribbean”.

Blue Water’s global network of more than 60 offices works closely together to provide services to the customers, and the company has an extensive range of special in-house competences; engineers, experienced project freight forwarders, IT developers as well as quality, safety and environmental experts. These in-house competences will increase according to the need and demands in the market.
