Benore Logistic Systems, Inc. demonstrates exemplary commitment to sustainability in the logistics and transportation sector

Benore Logistic Systems, Inc. has reaffirmed its leadership in sustainability within the logistics and transportation sector. Effective as of October 2023, the company integrated two additional Peterbilt 579EV trucks into its fleet, with funding secured through the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) from the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). One truck was facilitated in partnership with the South Carolina Ports, andthe second truck was a joint project between the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.

DERA, a pivotal federal law in the United States, plays a central role in the nation's concerted efforts to reduce emissions from diesel engines. Administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), DERA has been instrumental in significantly decreasing pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and particulate matter from a wide range of diesel engine applications.

Since its inaugural deployment in April 2022, Benore’s first electric truck has been a valuable asset for analyzing energy consumption across various load conditions, charging scenarios, speeds, idle periods, and route types. This data continues to serve as a foundation for identifying optimal use cases for electric trucks within the logistics industry.

The Peterbilt Model 579EV, with a range of up to 150 miles, operates on thermally regulated lithium-ion batteries. Benore has also installed a high-capacity 150kW fast charger, enabling the truck to be fully charged within a swift three to four hour timeframe.

South Carolina Ports further supports this commendable effort of moving more cargo via electric trucks, which was made possible with federal funding received through the DERA program. This support will contribute to the fleet's expansion with an additional five trucks slated for integration by mid-2024.
