BBC Chartering opens new office serving Spain and Portugal

Effective 1 September 2025, BBC Chartering will be present with a wholly owned office in Madrid, serving both Spain and Portugal.

BBC Chartering is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Madrid, Spain, effective 1 September 2025. This strategic move aims to strengthen our service capabilities in the Spanish and Portuguese markets, which are vital components of our global network.

The Madrid office will be led by Mr. Jorge Vicente De Vera, who has been appointed as Managing Director. Jorge De Vera brings extensive expertise in the breakbulk and project cargo sector, including 14 years of leadership experience with the Noatum Group.

Joining him is Mr. Alfredo José Byrne Bernui, who will serve as Chartering Broker. Alfredo Byrne has over 15 years of industry experience, having worked with both freight forwarders and carriers, and is well-versed in the dynamics of our segment.

BBC Chartering will continue its operational presence in Bilbao through Lia Magalhaes, who has been with the company since 2015 and has been serving the Spanish market since 2019. She oversees operations and customer service, ensuring continuity and excellence in client support.

With approximately 140–160 annual port calls in Spain, the Iberian Peninsula remains a key region for BBC Chartering. It is home to numerous blue-chip companies and a diverse range of specialized forwarders and brokers, making it an essential part of our global operations.
