Baltic Hub welcomes multiple new services

Mar 25, 2025

Baltic Hub, the largest and fastest-growing container terminal complex in the Baltic Sea, today announced a series of new services that will start calling its facilities in Gdansk, Poland in the coming months. Starting at the end of March, the terminal hub will welcome two weekly calls by Maersk vessels as part of the newly established Gemini Alliance network. Additionally, MSC will launch two new weekly services in early April. These new connections will strengthen Baltic Hub’s position as a key gateway for global trade.

The first new service is a result of the new ‘Gemini Cooperation’ between Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd AG that launched its new ocean and shuttle network on 1 February 2025. Under this alliance, Maersk will operate two weekly shuttles at Baltic Hub, linking Polish ports with the German ports of Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven. The first ship from this new ocean network, the 294 meter long Api Bhum, will call Baltic Hub on 25 March 2025.

In addition, MSC will expand its presence in Gdansk by adding Baltic Hub to two of its weekly Asia-Europe services - Britannia and Albatros. The first vessel of the Britannia service, the 364 meter long MSC Rose, is expected to arrive on 3 April 2025 and the first Albatros vessel, the 366 meter long MSC Maura, is expected on 16 April 2025.

Besides these new services, the long-established AEU1/LL1/FAL5/NE1 service operated by OCEAN ALLIANCE (CMA CGM, OOCL, COSCO, Evergreen) and FAL1 operated by CMA CGM will continue their calls at Baltic Hub.

T3 Terminal Expansion

Baltic Hub will facilitate the handling of the Ultra Large Container Vessels (ULCVs) on these additional ocean service lines with the state-of-the-art STS cranes at its new T3 expansion project that is currently being built on a 36-hectare artificial peninsula, linked to its current terminals. When fully completed in late 2025, T3 will expand Baltic Hub’s capacity by 1.5 million TEUs to 4.5 million TEUs per year, thereby making Baltic Hub one of Europe’s largest container terminal complexes.

Jan van Mossevelde, CEO of Baltic Hub commented about the new services, "As part of our T3 expansion program, we are adding additional yard space and handling capacity, which will help unlock new opportunities for our customers, facilitate greater trade flows across Central and Eastern Europe and strengthen the Polish economy. The introduction of these new services and clients propel us forward in our pursuit of operational excellence, enhanced safety and sustained growth."
