Averitt teams with TRC to strengthen sustainability efforts

Nov 26, 2024

Averitt has announced a new collaboration with TRC Companies, Inc., a leading global professional services firm providing integrated strategy, consulting, engineering and applied technologies, including sustainability consulting and environmental solutions. TRC will support Averitt in enhancing its sustainability reporting in accordance with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) guidelines, with a focus on areas such as energy management and greenhouse gas emissions.

TRC, a recognized leader in environmental, engineering, and energy consulting, helps companies implement sustainable practices and meet rigorous regulatory standards. Their guidance will help Averitt to strengthen its environmental strategies and meet specific SASB goals, such as improving fuel efficiency and minimizing environmental impact through fleet modernization.

"This strategic collaboration with TRC allows us to enhance our sustainability efforts while ensuring we meet the highest standards for reporting," said Barry Blakely, president and chief operating officer of Averitt. "Working with them will drive greater accountability and progress in reducing our environmental footprint."

Averitt’s sustainability initiatives include the adoption of energy-efficient technologies, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and the use of alternative fuels. These efforts, alongside the company’s focus on secure and energy-efficient facilities and eco-friendly equipment, reflect Averitt’s broader strategy to foster a sustainable future for both the company and the communities it serves.
