Nov 04, 2024

AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering services and nuclear company with offices around the world, has been selected by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to provide Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) Services for projects along State Route (SR) 316. The Company has served the Department on ten completed or ongoing SR 316 projects.

"AtkinsRéalis has a long history of providing exceptional professional services in Georgia even during periods of significant growth like we are currently experiencing,” said Steve Morriss, President, U.S., Latin America, and Minerals & Metals, AtkinsRéalis. “Recent employee surveys show 94% of our people would recommend AtkinsRéalis as a top employer. Much of that satisfaction comes from AtkinsRéalis’ commitment to continuous career improvement through Inspector and Project Manager training and mentorship programs and partnerships with organizations like the Georgia College and Career Academy Network. Simply stated, we hire, develop and deploy the right people for the job.”

GDOT has identified multiple projects along the SR 316 corridor aimed at reducing crashes and relieving congestion between Atlanta and Athens. Under the 5-year $15 million contract, AtkinsRéalis will supply frontline CEI services on select Design-Bid-Build projects including new construction, widening and reconstruction, asphalt and concrete pavement rehabilitation, bridge replacement, resurfacing and safety improvements. Activities performed on behalf of GDOT include contract administration, inspection and materials sampling and testing. The Company will provide project administration, quality assurance and support services from its nearby Atlanta office, which is home to more than 375 professional services staff.

“We have a deep bench of technical and administrative resources readily available throughout a project’s lifecycle to ensure they remain on schedule and within budget,” said Brad Dennard, Senior Vice President, DOT Business Unit Director US, Roads Global Market Lead, AtkinsRéalis. “With staff already working on the 316 corridor, we can ensure adherence to GDOT’s exacting performance measures and seamless coordination across all projects.”

AtkinsRéalis has partnered with GDOT to deliver CEI services for more than 25 years and has built a strong reputation of providing experienced CEI services to state DOTs and transportation authorities in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, and Puerto Rico.
