ATA, Kenworth, Goodyear, Schneider pioneers honored at ATIL Hall of Fame ceremony

Oct 23, 2023

The American Truck Historical Society celebrates six trucking industry pioneers on Wednesday, October 25, with a showcase of Kenworth trucks representing every era, alongside cutting-edge simulator trucks from our trucking friends. These six titans of the trucking world are being inducted into the American Trucking and Industry Leader Hall of Fame on Oct. 25 at ATHS headquarters, 10380 North Ambassador Drive, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Congratulations to the trucking industry pioneers who will be inducted into the 2023 Hall of Fame.

• Ted Rodgers, first president of American Trucking Associations

• Frank Seiberling, founder of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.

• Harry Kent and Edgar Worthington, founders of Kenworth

• Al and Don Schneider, founders of Schneider National Inc

“This year marks the third year that ATHS will honor pioneers of the trucking industry. We invite the public, especially those in the transportation sector, to learn about the significant impact each of these pioneers has made upon the trucking industry and moving America forward,” said Hall of Fame Chair Tom Mullen (Linesville, Pennsylvania). In addition to recognizing the merit of these pioneers, there will be lots to see. “We will be celebrating Kenworth’s 100th anniversary by displaying Kenworth trucks throughout the years. Attendees can also enjoy trucks from the ATA Interstate One Truck, a classroom on wheels with a state-of-the-art simulator, and the Kenworth 100-year history trailer. Goodyear and Schneider units will be present to enjoy. “If you are interested in beautiful classic trucks and the history behind them, plan to drop by the American Truck Historical Society on Wednesday, October 25 to witness the trucking industry's power, history, and innovation come to life.” said Mullen.

The ATHS Awards and ATIL Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, October 25 at 2 p.m., with a tour of the ATHS Visitor Center following the event. Attendees preserving trucking history include past inductees, Kansas City leaders, and the ATHS Board of Directors and members.
