Argentina’s Milei to partially privatize nuclear power plants operator

Argentine President Javier Milei will sign a decree to partially privatize Nucleoelectrica Argentina, the company operating the country's three functioning nuclear power plants, presidential spokesman Manuel Adorni said on Tuesday.

The Milei administration intends to sell 44% of the shares of the company, which operates the Atucha I, Atucha II and Embalse power plants, through an international public tender, Adorni added.

"The idea is to promote private investment to build Argentina's first modular reactor and boost uranium mining," he said, adding that all state-run companies are subject to potential privatization.
