A&R Bulk-Pak achieves Operation Clean Sweep Logistics Verification for preventing resin loss in operations to protect the environment

Apr 24, 2025

A&R Bulk-Pak, a leading contract packaging, warehousing and logistics provider owned by Nova Infrastructure, has earned Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) Logistics verification, a series of actions designed to eliminate potential plastic pellet loss during transport, packaging and storage. OCS, which was founded by Plastics Industry Association in 1991 and is managed in partnership with the American Chemistry Council’s Plastics Division, is a program that supports companies in their goal towards achieving zero plastic resin loss in operations.

A&R received the OCS verification for its Moncks Corner, SC facility, which features a wide range of logistics and packaging services designed to optimize supply chains and reduce client costs. The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with high-speed packaging lines and extensive warehouse storage, and has a comprehensive set of logistics capabilities, all of which deploy industry best practices to control every pellet being processed.

“The A&R team works hard every day to ensure that all product moving through our facility gets to its final destination and does not find its way into the environment. We take the OCS pledge very seriously and ensure that our mission and core values are woven into every part of our operation, so we’re honored and humbled to be one of the first companies to be verified,” said Vince Lombardy, Plant Manager for A&R.

OCS verification requires the following:

• Commit to making zero plastic resin loss a priority.

• Assess your company's situation and needs.

• Make necessary upgrades in facilities and equipment as appropriate.

• Improve your worksite set-up to prevent and address spills.

• Create and publish internal procedures to achieve zero resin loss goals.

• Provide employee training and accountability for spill prevention, containment, cleanup, and disposal.

• Raise employee awareness and create accountability by encouraging them to sign the Employee Commitment Pledge.

• Comply with all applicable state and local regulations governing pellet containment.

• Follow up and enforce procedures, including conducting routine inspections and looking for ways to continuously improve your program.
