The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) proudly announced Anna Balan, AWERY CargoBooking, as the recipient of the 2026 Rising Star Award, presented during the TIACA Executive Summit 2026 held in Warsaw, Poland, from June 1-3.

Sponsored by HACTL, the Rising Star Award recognizes exceptional young professionals who are making a significant impact on the air cargo industry through innovation, leadership, professional achievement, and commitment to advancing the sector's future.

Anna was selected by the TIACA Board of Directors from an outstanding field of nominees representing the next generation of air cargo talent. The Board recognized her exceptional professional accomplishments, commitment to industry advancement, and demonstrated potential to become one of the future leaders of the global air cargo community.

The award was presented before an audience of more than 320 air cargo professionals attending TIACA's Executive Summit, the association's premier annual gathering of industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers.

"One of the most important responsibilities we have as an industry is to identify, support, and celebrate the leaders of tomorrow. Anna Balan has already demonstrated many of the qualities that define outstanding leadership, including innovation, determination, collaboration, and a commitment to advancing our industry. The Board of Directors was impressed not only by her achievements to date but also by her potential to shape the future of air cargo. "The future success of air cargo depends on attracting and developing talented professionals who bring fresh perspectives, new ideas, and a passion for continuous improvement. Anna exemplifies these qualities. Her accomplishments at this stage of her career are impressive, and her commitment to driving positive change within the industry makes her a deserving recipient of this year's Rising Star Award. We congratulate Anna and look forward to seeing her continued success in the years ahead." added, Glyn Hughes, TIACA Director General

“Nurturing and recognizing the achievements of the next generation of air cargo talent is vital to the future of our industry. At Hactl, we have long implemented initiatives to support and advance newcomers, and we are delighted to sponsor this award with TIACA, celebrating the accomplishments of rising stars such as Anna Balan.” Stated Frosti Lau, Chief Executive of Hactl.

"Receiving the Rising Star Award is an incredible honor. Innovation is never a solo effort. This milestone reflects our shared commitment to driving efficiency in air cargo." said Anna Balan, Head of CargoBooking, Awery Aviation Software.

The Rising Star Award was created to recognize and encourage emerging professionals who are already making meaningful contributions to the industry while demonstrating the potential to become future leaders. As the air cargo sector continues to evolve, attracting and developing the next generation of talent remains a critical priority for long-term success.

TIACA extends its sincere appreciation to HACTL for its continued sponsorship and support of the Rising Star Award and congratulates all nominees whose dedication and achievements continue to strengthen the global air cargo community.

TIACA encourages companies and organizations across the air cargo supply chain to begin identifying and nominating exceptional young professionals for the 2027 Rising Star Award.

The call for nominations will be announced later this year, providing another opportunity to recognize emerging talent and celebrate the individuals who are helping shape the future of air cargo through their innovation, leadership, and professional excellence.

Industry professionals are encouraged to watch for the announcement and submit nominations for colleagues who exemplify the qualities of a future industry leader.
