Air Canada Cargo: Airfreight carrier surcharge

Mar 17, 2026

Due to the unrest in the Middle East, Air Canada Cargo is introducing an airfreight carrier surcharge to help partially offset rising fuel prices, airport and enroute fees, and currency related cost fluctuations.

To ensure that the costs are shared proportionally across our global network, different surcharge levels will apply based on short, medium, and long-haul flights.

This surcharge will take effect March 23, 2026 in most global markets, excluding countries with government regulated fuel surcharges. Subject to government approval.

As we continue operating in these unexpected market conditions, our airfreight surcharge will be reviewed and adjusted on a regular cadence. We remain committed to maintaining reliable service while responsibly managing these fluctuating operating costs to ensure our pricing and service remains competitive.

If you have any questions, please contact our Cargo Customer Service Center at 1-800-387-4865.

Surcharges are outlined on our website.
