AGI employees at JFK vote against union representation

Jul 17, 2025

AGI announced that employees at its JFK airport operations have voted against representation by the union seeking to organize them, Amalgamated Production Workers, Local 22. The outcome reflects the AGI team members’ desire to continue a direct, open relationship with AGI management and emphasizes their trust in AGI’s commitment to supporting employees through competitive wages and a respectful, inclusive work environment.

“We are grateful that our team at JFK has chosen to preserve the direct relationship we’ve worked hard to build together,” said Jared Azcuy, CEO of AGI. “With wage and benefit protections like the Healthy Terminals Act and Living Wage Ordinances already in place, there is simply no added value in paying union dues to receive what the law already guarantees. Our employees made it clear: they don’t need a union to advocate for what they already have.”

Throughout the United States, AGI has lobbied in support of Living Wage Ordinances (LWOs) and believes they are the most effective way to provide a compensation standard to all employees at the airport, regardless of their union status. AGI remains committed to exceeding compliance standards wherever possible and providing opportunities for advancement and growth.

AGI thanks its JFK team members for their engagement and participation in this process and looks forward to continuing to serve its airline partners with the dedication, professionalism, and excellence that define the AGI standard.
