Aeromexico continues U.S. expansion with new service between Mexico City and Tampa, FL

Feb 26, 2024
  • Starting July 1, 2024, Aeromexico will operate one daily flight with Embraer 190 aircraft.
  • New service strengthens Aeromexico´s offering in Florida, where the airline already has a presence in Miami and Orlando.

Enhancing connectivity between Mexico and the United States, on July 1st, Aeromexico will start daily nonstop service between Mexico City International Airport (MEX) and Tampa International Airport (TPA), Florida. The route will be served by Embraer 190 aircraft with 99 seats, including 11 in Aeromexico’s premium cabin, Clase Premier. The new service will also offer seamless connections via Mexico City to and from Aeromexico´s extensive domestic network.

Tampa will become Aeromexico´s 23rd city served in the United States, joining Atlanta, Boston, McAllen, Raleigh/Durham and Washington as U.S. cities opening in 2024 as part of a significant expansion in Mexico´s largest air service market. In Florida, Tampa will become Aeromexico´s third city, complementing existing service from Miami and Orlando. Among these three Florida airports, there will be up to 400 monthly arrivals and departures representing a capacity of 75,000 monthly seats.

This new service is made possible by Aeromexico-Delta alliance, which offers more and better options to passengers in both Mexico and the United States. Tickets are now available through the digital channels of both airlines, and the itinerary details are as follows:

Joe Lopano, Tampa International Airport CEO commented: “It’s a big day for TPA when we get to announce both a new airline and a new route that connects Tampa Bay with the largest metropolitan area in North America. We’re proud to welcome Aeromexico to Tampa International Airport with this service to Mexico City and look forward to helping the strong cultural and business ties between our two regions continue to grow.”
