WCAworld’s Worldwide Conference sets new record with over 4,500 Attendees

Hugely successful event reinforces the importance of independent freight forwarders to the global supply chain

WCAworld Worldwide Conference 2024, the 13th annual conference of its kind, saw a remarkable 4,500+ members gather in Dubai, UAE, for a week of networking and collaboration. The event saw members from over 180 countries come together for its renowned 1-on-1 business meetings, with over 70,000 pre-arranged meetings successfully conducted, along with social networking and learning and training opportunities.

As the largest gathering of freight forwarders in the world, this year’s conference saw unprecedented opportunities to expand business opportunities and create new tradelane partnerships. The comprehensive agenda also featured keynote speeches from industry experts, panel discussions and training and educational sessions covering a wide range of subjects from pharma and dangerous goods transport to the threats faced by forwarders and the importance of correct insurance.

During the four-course sit-down gala dinner, attended by over 4,100 delegates, the results of the WCA Top Partners of the Year were revealed. With thousands of votes cast by members for the agents that provided them with the best service, each regional winner was brought on stage to receive their trophy. This was followed by the top agent globally, which was won this year by Emirates Cargo LLC.

President of FIATA, and long-time WCAworld member Turgut Erkeskin, from Genel Transport, was also recognised at the event as the Hall of Fame Winner and presented with his award by WCAworld Chairman David Yokeum and CEO Dan March.

Dan March commented “the continuous growth in attendance to our annual conference is testament to how much business is created by bringing members into one room together and affording them a setting in which they enhance their business and forge vital new relationships within the WCAworld network.”
