Wallenius Wilhelmsen appoints Bjørnar Bukholm as new CFO

Nov 01, 2024

Wallenius Wilhelmsen is pleased to announce Bjørnar Bukholm as the new EVP and CFO. He will start no later than 1 May 2025.

“We are very excited to have Bjørnar back in Wallenius Wilhelmsen. Bjørnar knows our company and industry well, has a proven track record as CFO and brings wide and deep strategic and financial experience into the role. He has delivered outstanding results in his previous roles. I believe he will be a very valuable addition to our executive team,” says CEO and President at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Lasse Kristoffersen.

Bjørnar Bukholm has been the CFO at Sector Alarm, one of the leading providers of home security in Europe, since 2019. Before Sector Alarm, Bukholm spent nearly 8 years at Wallenius Wilhelmsen holding several positions mainly within business development, strategy, finance and Investor Relations. When he left Wallenius Wilhelmsen in 2019, he served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance, Strategy & Investor Relations.

Bukholm holds a Master of Business and Economics from BI Norwegian Business School and he began his career in McKinsey & Company.

“I am thrilled to return to Wallenius Wilhelmsen after six years with Sector Alarm. Wallenius Wilhelmsen has always been close to my heart, and I am eager to reconnect with the team and contribute to our shared goals. I look forward to bringing my perspectives to the table and helping drive the strategy forward during a period where transition is essential for the industry. Finance plays a crucial role in that transition. Together, we will navigate the challenges ahead and seize the opportunities to ensure continued success and value creation for our stakeholders,” says Bukholm.

Bukholm will join the company no later than 1 May 2025. Jermund Lien, currently SVP of Global Business Performance Management, will act as interim CFO from 1 November until Bukholm joins. The outgoing CFO, Torbjørn Wist, will leave the company on 1 December 2024.
