Wall Street opened sharply lower on Friday as new U.S. tariffs on dozens of trading partners and Amazon's unimpressive earnings weighed on sentiment, while a weaker payrolls report added to risk aversion.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 349.2 points, or 0.79%, at the open to 43781.77. The S&P 500 fell 52.1 points, or 0.82%, to 6287.28, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 291.8 points, or 1.38%, to 20830.643.
