Utah Port Authority announces open houses focused on Utah’s logistics

Apr 16, 2024

WHAT: The Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA) announces two upcoming open house events to introduce the initial findings of its current statewide logistics study. The two open houses will provide stakeholders and the public with an opportunity to learn about the study, engage in discussions about the specific project economic areas, and learn more about the goals and objectives of UIPA.

This logistics study also identifies the biggest trends and risks that could shift freight transportation patterns in Utah and within UIPA’s project areas. The comprehensive analysis aims to identify logistics-related economic development opportunities for Utah and the types of investments in freight infrastructure and services that would be most beneficial for enhancing efficiency, reducing congestion, and improving the overall effectiveness of the region’s logistics system.

During the open house, representatives from the Utah Inland Port Authority and the consulting firms, CPCS and WSP, that are conducting the logistics study, will provide an opportunity to learn about:

1. UIPA’s mission, vision, objectives and accomplishments.

2. Current findings of the statewide logistics study

3. Details of the current project economic area plans

4. Economic advantages and job creation for Utahns

5. Sustainability actions and commitment
