United Cargo – after Opticooler RAP,  now also Opticooler RKN certified

Apr 26, 2023

DoKaSch Temperature Solutions today announced that United Cargo completed the technical approval of the Opticooler® RKN, to enhance their temperature-controlled airfreight transportation services catered primarily to the pharmaceutical industries’ global shipments.

On nearly all wide body international flights operated by United Airlines, shippers and forwarders worldwide can now draw upon the readily available and highly reliable temperature-controlled packaging solutions from DoKaSch-TS.

United Airlines and DoKaSch-TS maintain an established strong business relationship. United Cargo’s addition of the Opticooler® RKN to its product portfolio is another step to ensuring customer satisfaction in the U.S. market, where DoKaSch TS’s Opticooler® RAP is already well established.

Andreas Seitz, Managing Director of DoKaSch Temperature Solutions, adds that, “the technical approval of the Opticooler® RKN by United Cargo is a major step towards our growth strategy in the US. Thanks to this cooperation, we are further expanding our established and dispersed global network in the Americas and hence worldwide. With its market leading reliability as well as availability, our Opticooler® packaging solution will thereby become available to even more customers in the US as well as worldwide.”

“We have always focused on a strong cool chain packing solution within our network because the supply of lifesaving medicines is crucial. Thanks to direct connections to some of the most important hubs in the Western Hemisphere, we can provide highly reliable and quick transports to a wide variety of destinations,” said Manu Jacobs, Managing Director of Specialty Products at United Cargo. “The Opticoolers provided by DoKaSch Temperature Solutions are fulfilling our high standards and support our worldwide cool chain network network.”

The Opticooler® is a temperature-controlled packaging solution that comes in two sizes: the RAP container holds up to four CP 1 pallets (or five euro-pallets), while the smaller RKN version provides space for one CP 1 pallet (or any standard US pallet, up to max. 48 inches x 48 inches).

Both active cool chain containers are battery-powered, can easily be adapted to any transport scenario, and enable customers to always keep the desired temperature level. Since the Opticoolers require only a common power socket to be recharged, they can readily be used as temporary storage when the necessary infrastructure is lacking. This makes them the ideal solution for the safe transportation of highly sensitive pharmaceutical products which always need to be protected from the slightest temperature deviations.
