Unitech expands in Beaver City, brings 50 jobs and a milestone for mineral mountains inland port project

Jan 18, 2024

The Beaver County Economic Development Office announced Unitech Manufacturing, a division of Midgley-Huber, will expand its business operations in the South Peaks Industrial Park in Beaver, Utah, along the I-15 corridor.

This expansion will bring 50 new jobs to the area in the next six months and the company will kick off initial hiring endeavors in mid-January.

“It feels good to go in and help a community," said Chris Oberle, president and CEO of Midgley-Huber. "But this is a good thing for us, too. It's a win-win and a perfect fit that we're excited about. It opens short and long-term options for us, and we truly believe in the growth of this community.”

Unitech is one of the largest suppliers of HVAC equipment and air handling systems in the Intermountain West. Their products cross a large segment of private, public, and non-profit entities.

Unitech Manufacturing will be the first company to locate in the Beaver City Zone of the Utah Inland Port Authority's Mineral Mountains Inland Port Project Area, marking an important milestone for the community.

"This partnership showcases the ideal relationship, and how project areas should meet community needs by bringing growth and job opportunities," said Ben Hart, executive director with UIPA. "We're excited to see Unitech Manufacturing's expansion benefit Beaver County, and we are excited to continue to work with this amazing community.”

The build-out of this project will enable expansion and growth for Beaver County through the utilization of collected increment and it's reinvestment in county infrastructure.

Unitech Manufacturing will build a 50,000-square-foot building, which is anticipated to be in full operation by June 2024.

“The Economic Development Board has been diligently seeking ways to bring responsible growth to our communities," said Commissioner Wade Hollingshead. "With this new announcement, to say that we are excited would be an understatement. The hard work is paying off, and the opportunity for our children to have jobs and work in our communities is why we need responsible growth. A huge thanks to our Strategic Development Director, Jen Wakeland, and Commissioner Yardley on getting the ball rolling with Unitech Manufacturing. A big thanks to our partners, Beaver City, and Utah Inland Port Authority. We are excited to see what the future holds for our county.”
