Ulsan Port Authority awards ‘2024 Best Tank Terminal’

Ulsan Port Authority (UPA) has announced the winners of its inaugural 'Best Tank Terminal at Ulsan Port' program, recognizing exceptional ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices among Ulsan's tank terminals.

The 'Best Tank Terminal at Ulsan Port' initiative, introduced by UPA this year, assessed 12 commercial tank terminals based on 13 evaluation indicators across four key categories: environmental responsibility, social responsibility (including safety), business operations, and contributions to the local community. This program aims to foster a sustainable corporate culture while strengthening the credibility and awareness of Ulsan Port’s tank terminals on the global stage.

Award Recipients

  • 2024 Best Tank Terminal: Jeongil Stolthaven Ulsan

Recognized for its outstanding safety and environmental management systems and significant investments in sustainable business practices.

UPA awarded the winners of the 'Best Tank Terminal at Ulsan Port' initiative on 31 December 2024.
  • 2024 Excellent Companies:

United Terminal Korea: Acknowledged for its exemplary training programs in environment and safety and contributions to industry development.

Vopak Terminals Korea: Commended for its advancements in technology and proactive measures to prevent safety incidents.

Hyundai Oil Terminal: Praised for creating local job opportunities and aligning operations with government policies supporting the local community.

"This award will further strengthen the recognition and credibility of Ulsan Port Tank Terminals, which will help the port increase cargo volume and strengthen its global competitiveness," said BYEON Jaeyoung, President of UPA. "We will continue to make efforts to make Ulsan Port a global energy hub port."
