Trailer Bridge executes first operation under USTRANSCOM PORTS contract

Jul 11, 2025

Trailer Bridge recently completed its first successful operation under the U.S. Transportation Command’s (USTRANSCOM) Port Operations and Related Transportation Services (PORTS) contract, conducting stevedoring and port operations in Narvik, Norway.

The mission supported the redeployment of U.S. military cargo from Defender 2025, Formidable Shield, and Swift Response 2025 exercises — key components of NATO’s strategic posture and readiness in Europe.

As the prime contractor, Trailer Bridge managed all aspects of the Narvik operation, delivering critical services such as:

  • Cargo staging and tally
  • Cargo handling
  • Vessel stevedoring, including cargo upload and securement to both Roll-On, Roll-Off and Load-On, Load-Off vessels contracted by the U.S. Government
  • Miscellaneous port services

In total, the operation included the movement of 146 pieces of military cargo, handled with precision by Trailer Bridge’s government logistics team and experienced maritime partners.

“The successful execution of this operation underscores Trailer Bridge’s steadfast commitment to delivering mission-critical logistics solutions in support of the U.S. military and its allies,” said Chris Goss, Vice President of Government and Projects. “Our personnel maintained an active presence throughout the duration of the project, ensuring each phase was carried out with the professionalism and precision that define our service globally.”

This project marks a significant milestone under the PORTS contract, which was awarded to Trailer Bridge in 2024 and establishes the company as one of 30 global businesses supporting global military port operations on behalf of USTRANSCOM. It reinforces Trailer Bridge’s commitment to supporting mission-critical logistics for the U.S. Department of Defense and its allies.
