Nov 09, 2022

The CMA CGM Group, a global player in sea, land, air and logistics, introduces EASY RECYCLING, an innovative recycling solution, to enable its customers with shipments to Jakarta, Indonesia, to dispose of used paper and plastic packaging. EASY RECYCLING will be available only for CMA CGM’s customers in Jakarta as part of a trial aiming to expand the service to other Asian countries thereafter.

EASY RECYCLING, a new CMA CGM+ service

Clients who opt for EASY RECYCLING will unpack their cargo and leave their used packaging in returning containers heading for CMA CGM’s depot in Cakung. From the depot, the used paper and plastic packaging will be picked up and sorted for recycling.

John Lim, President Director of CMA CGM Indonesia, said, “The CMA CGM Group is committed to protecting the environment and advocates responsible plastic waste disposal. The launch of EASY RECYCLING service follows our Group’s stance to stop transporting plastic waste to prevent their exportation to destinations where sorting, recycling, or recovery cannot be assured. With EASY RECYCLING, our customers in Jakarta can be certain that the used packaging are collected and recycled responsibly.
