Readout of Sec. Raimondo’s meeting with EU Commission EVP Margrethe Vestager

"Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo met virtually with European Commission Executive Vice-President Margrethe Vestager to affirm their enduring commitment to the transatlantic economic partnership and advancing the transatlantic commercial relationship to support growth and innovation in the U.S. and EU.

The Secretary and Executive Vice-President discussed the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the European Green Deal Industrial Plan. Additionally, they discussed the importance of the work of the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC). The two also discussed the upcoming TTC ministerial in Europe and hosting a ministerial in the United States before the end of the year. The Secretary underscored the importance of continuing to collaborate and align on our approaches on semiconductors, supply chain resilience, and critical minerals."
