Polar King introduces PKM620: Industry’s largest standard refrigerated and freezer trailer

Aug 21, 2025

Polar King announced the launch of the PKM620, a 6’x20’ trailer – the largest mobile cold storage walk-in unit in the industry.

Built with Polar King’s signature fiberglass, seamless construction, the PKM620 offers a sanitary, durable cold storage environment capable of reaching sub-zero temperatures. Unlike other trailers in the Polar King lineup, the new unit features two full-sized doors, giving operators faster, safer and more efficient loading and unloading for high-volume operations. In addition to the backdoor, there’s also a door on the side of the unit.

“The PKM620 represents a bold step forward in mobile cold storage,” said Danny Gaviria, national sales manager for Polar King’s trailer division. “It combines the size and capability our customers have been asking for with the energy efficiency and reliability Polar King is known for. We’re proud to add this massive unit to our standard line of trailers, and we know it will help customers from day one.”

Additional PKM620 specifications include:

  • all-electric power
  • 220v, 17.5 MCA amps
  • 9,400 lbs. capacity

Polar King will unveil the PKM620 next week at the NATDA Trailer Show, which runs Aug. 26-28 in Nashville. Polar King will be located at Booth No. 1538 and will be represented by Gaviria, as well as Polar King Owner Barry Tippmann, Director of Marketing Rob Henry and Abby Tippmann, a dealer coordinator.

Polar King offers refrigerated and freezer trailers designed specifically for outdoor, over-the-road use. The trailers are made in America and feature a 100% seamless fiberglass exterior design that ensures a sanitary internal environment that remains independent of external temperatures.

The refrigerated and freezer trailers are certified by the NSF, as well as by the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM). Polar King is also ISO compliant, ensuring the units meet stringent safety, manufacturing, and regulatory standards.

Including the introduction of the PKM620, Polar King now has four trailers in its standard lineup: 8’, 12’, 16’, and 20’ units.

With four standard trailers, over-the-road cold storage solutions are ideal for any industry, including foodservice, catering, agriculture, hunting, baking, and many other temperature-sensitive applications.

This is the second-straight year that Polar King has made a major announcement at the NATDA Trailer Show. In 2024, the company unveiled its Avalanche Series. The Avalanche Series is the industry’s first trailer to offer a drop deck, ground-level loading capability.
