Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas extends ULD Management Contract with Jettainer

Mar 18, 2026

The Spanish airline Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas has renewed its long-standing partnership with ULD management specialist Jettainer for the years ahead. Under the extended agreement, Jettainer will continue to provide comprehensive ULD supply and maintenance services. In addition, the airline’s ULD fleet will now be progressively equipped with state-of-the-art IoT tracking technology, delivering real-time, end-to-end visibility across the entire ULD supply chain with unprecedented accuracy and actionable intelligence.

Since the launch of scheduled long-haul operations from its Madrid base to destinations in South and Central America in 2016, Jettainer has ensured the reliable and efficient provision of ULDs for the airline. As Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas expanded its network, the ULD fleet was continuously aligned with operational requirements and flexibly adapted to evolving demands.

As part of the long-term contract extension, Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas will be among the first airline customers to benefit from Jettainer’s latest IoT tracking solution currently available on the market. Beyond real-time tracking, the technology generates valuable process insights, enabling further optimization of fleet utilization and supporting performance improvements throughout each ULD’s lifecycle.

The devices, provided in collaboration with Trackonomy, introduce an innovative hybrid approach to data transmission. While LoRa and BLE readers will be installed at large and mid-sized locations, cellular-enabled units also act as mobile readers, using meshing technology to create a dynamic, self-expanding network. Although BLE and LoRa have been industry standards to date, the integration of cellular connectivity and meshing technology marks a significant step forward in delivering greater transparency, efficiency, and intelligence to customers.

“Jettainer has supported us for many years along our growth journey and remains the ideal partner to provide first-class ULD services going forward. The proven reliability of the collaboration, combined with the opportunity to further enhance transparency, visibility, and efficiency through cutting-edge IoT technology, were decisive factors in our decision to extend the contract,” said Alejandro Casado, COO and AOC Accountable Manager of Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas.

“Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas is a valued and strong airline partner, and we greatly appreciate the trust expressed through this contract extension. With our unique IoT tracking technology, we will further enhance operational performance and continue to deliver best-in-class ULD management services in the years to come,” said Dr. Jan-Wilhelm Breithaupt, CEO of Jettainer.
