OSK-Ship Tech goes into the design of warships

The Danish ship design company OSK-Ship Tech is now opening a new business area - OSK Defense - with a focus on the design of warships. To manage the new business area, the company has hired a commander captain with 37 years of experience from the Norwegian Navy,

In October last year, the government earmarked 5 billion euros for investments in the Swedish Navy. A new 10-year defense strategy is to be negotiated this spring, where one of the central topics will be to outline the strategy and requirements for the development of the navy's new building projects - which span a number of different vessels, including patrol vessels, home defense ships as well as Arctic frigates and patrol ships.

Together with the team of experienced naval architects in OSK Defence, the department under Lars Povl Jensen's leadership will focus on a holistic design approach that includes vessel purpose, energy optimization, and cost efficiency.

Lars Povl Jensen, who was commander of the frigate Esbern Snare when units from the frigate were in a firefight with pirates in the Gulf of Guinea on 24 November 2021, will take up his new position when he finishes his service in the Navy during the summer.
