OmniTRAX, one of the fastest growing railroads in North America and an affiliate of The Broe Group, is extending its new Rail-Ready Sites program to the West Virginia branch of the Winchester & Western Railroad (WW). The Rail-Ready Sites program connects rail-served sites with customers in need of property to access the benefits of rail.
OmniTRAX worked closely with the Berkeley County, WV Development Authority to identify the best developable, rail-ready sites along the Winchester and Western railroad. The initial six sites, which total 795 acres and range from 35 to 500 acre parcels, are ideal locations for rail-served manufacturing, food and beverage processing, and distribution facilities. “We are off and running with our Rail-Ready Sites program and are thrilled to add these locations in Berkeley County, WV. Our team is excited to work with the local experts in Berkeley County to bring new jobs and economic growth to the region,” said Ean Johnson, Vice President of Economic Development at OmniTRAX.
“Berkeley County is seeing an industrial resurgence and the Winchester & Western Railroad is an integral part of that momentum,” said Sandy Hamilton, Executive Director, Berkeley County Development Authority. “We look forward to partnering with OmniTRAX to continue developing sites and bringing new opportunities and advantages to our local communities.”
