OmniTRAX appoints Russell to senior executive role

OmniTRAX, one of the fastest growing railroads in North America and an affiliate of The Broe Group, announces industry veteran Rob Russell is joining the company as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Commercial Strategy. Russell, who reports to Chief Strategy Officer Pierre-Luc Mathieu, will be a key leader supporting the continued growth and development of the OmniTRAX franchise.

“Rob’s experience in financial, business strategy, operational and logistics functions will bolster our commercial efforts from day one. We are excited to have him join our leadership team,” said OmniTRAX CEO Kevin Shuba.
Russell comes to OmniTRAX with nearly 20 years of diverse rail experience, most recently as President of Progressive Rail, a short line holding company with 13 properties across the United States. Prior to joining Progressive Rail, he spent 16 years at Union Pacific Railroad working across the finance, operating and commercial departments. His final position at UP was Assistant Vice President – Network, Economic & Industrial Development, with responsibility for the Economic & Industrial Development, Short Line Railroad, Port and Commercial and Interline Strategy groups.
