Oceanly announced the promotion of Frederik Lerche-Tornoe to Chief Executive Officer.

The appointment comes as Oceanly accelerates the global expansion of its service offering, helping maritime stakeholders navigate increasing regulatory demands and operational complexity through smarter, data-driven decision-making.

Lerche-Tornoe previously served as General Manager at the company, where he played a key role in driving operational excellence and advancing product development. With over 20 years of experience in the maritime and software sectors, he now steps into the CEO role to lead the company’s next phase of growth and innovation.

“It’s an honor to be appointed CEO at such a pivotal time for the industry,” said Lerche-Tornoe. “Oceanly has built a strong foundation, and our focus now is on helping customers cut through data overload, turning complex information into real-time, actionable insights that improve performance and sustainability.”

Giampiero Soncini, widely recognized as a pioneer in maritime digitalization, will remain closely involved with the company as a Board Member and strategic advisor.

“Oceanly is forging powerful alliances with leading global players in advanced technologies and AI”, said Mr Soncini. “I’m really pleased to see Frederik step into the role of CEO, there’s no one better suited to lead Oceanly into its next chapter. With a strong management team alongside him, including Ingela Mandl, Matteo Barsotti, Riccardo Gimelli, and Valentina Cerretti, Oceanly is in excellent hands. I have no doubt the company is on course to become one of the most influential players in maritime IT.
