The Ocean Alliance is now offering direct container service connecting the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) with key markets in Asia.
Operated on a weekly basis, the Chesapeake Bay Express (CBX) container service is jointly provided by ocean carriers CMA CGM, COSCO Shipping, Evergreen Marine, and OOCL. Together, these carriers rank among the world’s top 10 ocean container lines.
The inaugural sailing will arrive at JAXPORT in May.

The CBX port rotation includes Vũng Tàu, Vietnam; Yantian and Shanghai in China; Busan, South Korea; Kobe, Japan; transit of the Panama Canal; Norfolk; Charleston; Savannah; Jacksonville; and a return to Vũng Tàu.
SSA Marine will provide stevedoring services at the newly modernized SSA Jacksonville Container Terminal at JAXPORT’s Blount Island Marine Terminal. The terminal features a 47-foot deepwater shipping channel, modern cargo-handling equipment, and expanded container capacity to support larger vessels and growing cargo volumes.
“The addition of the Ocean Alliance further strengthens Jacksonville’s position as a strategic gateway for global trade,” said JAXPORT CEO Eric Green. “This service expands routing flexibility between the Southeast United States and key Asian markets and underscores how our continued infrastructure investments are delivering efficient, reliable service for global carriers.”
As the final U.S. port of call on the CBX service, Jacksonville offers shippers enhanced opportunities for equipment repositioning and expedited transit for U.S. export cargoes.
