North American Rail Shippers Association cancels 2020 Annual Meeting

Chicago - The North American Rail Shippers Association (NARS) today announced the cancellation of its 2020 Annual Meeting planned on May 12-14, 2020 in Kansas City, MO.

Every year, the NARS organization looks forward to connecting with the rail shipping community at the NARS Annual Meeting and sharing insight from industry leaders. Given the growing concerns around COVID-19, the NARS Board of Directors made the difficult decision to cancel NARS 2020 scheduled next month in Kansas City.

“The NARS meeting is an important networking and education event for the transportation industry, and it’s one of our favorite ways to bring together members from across our five regional associations including NEARS, SEARS, SWARS, MARS and PNWARS. However, our first priority is the health and safety of our members, staff and all those who contribute to this meeting,” said NARS president Tom Tisa.

The next NARS Annual Meeting will be held in Chicago May 12-14, 2021 at the Sheraton Grand Chicago and will partner with The Traffic Club of Chicago as it hosts its Annual Dinner the night of May 13, 2021.

In its notice to its members, NARS expressed its gratitude to its sponsors, exhibitors and speakers who planned to participate in NARS 2020, noting appreciation to Kansas City Southern for offering to host the 2020 meeting in Kansas City. NARS will return to Kansas City for its Annual Meeting in May of 2022.
