Norfolk Southern Rail reopening of Louisville, KY terminal

With continued strong growth in the Louisville Intermodal market, Norfolk Southern announced that they will be adding terminal capacity to this growing market through the reopening of the Intermodal terminal in Louisville, KY (Buechel, KY). 

Beginning Monday October 4, 2021 the Louisville, KY (Buechel, KY) Intermodal terminal will open for inbound traffic from Norfolk International Terminals, VA and  Portsmouth APMT, VA (Virginia International Gateway) terminals only. 

The Louisville, KY terminal will be added to the Tier 1 terminals listing effective at reopening beginning Monday October 4, 2021. For Tier 1 terminals, both Saturday and Sunday will count as a business day for the purposes of Day of Notification and Free Time. NS recognized holidays will not count as a business day. The holidays recognized by NS are listed in Appendix A of the NS Rules Circular.

Gate hours will be Monday – Friday 0800 – 1600
