MSC will be introducing changes to its GULF to SAEC String 1 service, with the insertion of an eighth vessel for a 56-day rotation.
Starting 18 May from Veracruz with the MV ATHENS GLORY Voyage 320S, there will be a new port destination in the US Gulf as Mobile will be added. The first call to Mobile will be on 26 May. The Brazilian Port of SUAPE has been removed from the rotation.
The addition of Mobile to the service will add another entry point for US-bound cargo and facilitate further trade across the US and South America.
Regardless of the operational changes capacity will remain unaffected.
The new rotation of the service will be as follows:
VERACRUZ – ALTAMIRA – HOUSTON – MOBILE – CRISTOBAL – CARTAGENA – SANTOS – ITAPOA – NAVEGANTES – PARANAGUA – SANTOS – RIO DE JANEIRO – SALVADOR – CARTAGENA – CRISTOBAL – (VERACRUZ).
Given that 90% of international trade is transported across oceans, maritime safety and stable shipping trading routes are critical.
