MOL PLUS to invest in wind condition solution provider Metro Weather

Realizing social implementation of a solution for wind condition observation/forecasting

MOL PLUS announced its intent to invest in Metro Weather, Co., Ltd., a startup company that provides solutions for observation and forecasting of wind conditions using Doppler Lidar.

With the vision “Controlling the wind, and realizing the safer skies,” Metro Weather aims to assist problem- solving in various industries and deliver information on wind conditions to drone flight control systems by providing a wind condition solution with a compact, lightweight, low-price Doppler Lidar.

MOL PLUS will contribute to social implementation of wind condition solutions realized by Metro Weather. It has a policy to proactively promote business tie-ups with the MOL Group. MOL PLUS and Metro Weather agreed to engage in a joint study of wind condition measurement at sea on the yacht WINZ MARU, which was used for the sea trial of the Wind Hunter Project with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd..
