Logistics company shares expert knowledge with university students

Opening of a lecture hall on the subject of “Mobility of the Future” / Good job opportunities for graduates at Gebrüder Weiss

The international transport and logistics service provider Gebrüder Weiss has officially become a new sponsor of the German Academy of Foreign Trade and Transport (DAV) in Bremen. Planned for three years to begin with, the partnership was finalized on November 2 at the DAV Campus. As an active sponsoring partner, Gebrüder Weiss is going to contribute practical aspects to the DAV’s teaching program, among others, and support students in their semester and final papers.

As part of the sponsorship, experts from Gebrüder Weiss will get in touch with young people who have gained professional experience already before starting their studies and want to enhance their knowledge in the field of logistics. “It is precisely these people that we want to address, inspiring them to join our company by giving them practical tasks to demonstrate how versatile the logistics business can be,” explains Lothar Thoma, Managing Director of Air & Sea at Gebrüder Weiss. By way of examples, he mentioned core topics of Gebrüder Weiss such as supply chain management, digitalization of supply chains,.0 and sustainability in logistics.

Thanks to our partner companies, our teaching content will continue to keep abreast of the latest developments, so that our students will be optimally prepared for their future careers,” says Thomas Zink, Director of Studies at the DAV.

Top-ranking company representatives had come to Bremen for the kick-off event held in a lecture hall designed by Gebrüder Weiss on the topic of “Mobility of the Future”, among them Lothar Thoma, Johannes Trautmann, Country Manager Air & Sea Germany, and Werner Dettenthaler, Regional Manager Land Transport Germany. For Gebrüder Weiss, the sponsoring partnership is also a home game. In the company’s worldwide Air & Sea network, the Bremen location with a staff of 68 plays an important role.
