Leading UK/US logistics firm signals global ambitions with new roles for key staff

Jun 04, 2025

Mark 3 International, which specialises in express parcel and freight logistics, particularly between the UK and the US, has announced two major role changes.

These changes will extend Mark 3 International’s specialism to other countries across the globe.

David Taylor, currently commercial director, will become global commercial director, while Hussein Hassan, operations director, will become global operations director.

The new roles signal Mark 3’s ambitions to grow from its recognised UK-US logistics expertise to become a global leader, bringing its strong focus on customer service, flexibility, and best-value to partners in more countries.

Matthew Ware, recently-appointed CEO at Mark 3, said; “These changes will allow us to focus on growing capacity and capability, to better serve our existing customers, and to bring that improved service to new ones.

“David moving into a more global commercial role enables us to focus specifically on meeting the global demands of ecommerce as we seek to strike new strategic relationships with key customers over the coming months.

“Despite the ongoing turbulence around tariffs, we are investing further in our operational capacity, and expect to make further announcements in this area in the coming weeks.”

Mark 3 International was formed in 1990 and has grown to become one of the UK’s leading experts in UK/US trade. The company has warehousing and clearance facilities at Heathrow and JFK in New York.

Hussein Hassan’s new role will see him becoming responsible for all Mark 3 operations around the world. This will allow the company to standardise processes and address new markets with a consistent service offering.

Hussein has over 25 years’ experience with Aramex in a variety of multi country management roles so is very well placed to manage the challenges in globalising Mark 3’s proposition. He said; “This is a fantastic opportunity to use my experience to help build a genuinely global product that I’m sure will be highly attractive.

“Mark 3 has taken a long-term view of the global logistics market and put in place key processes and systems to ensure we are able to scale up to take advantage.”

Ware added; “Both new roles are intentionally global in scope. Although we are a specialist in UK-US lanes, we have a global capability and we are looking to develop in these areas with existing and new customers.

Matthew joined Mark 3 after eight years at CFL, Heathrow Airport’s only on-site express courier handler, which saw the company grow significantly and expand its partnerships with airlines across the world.

Prior to CFL, Matthew held several senior positions with FedEx, where he worked for 16 years.

Daid Taylor commented; “I am hugely excited to take on this expanded remit. We have worked tirelessly to deliver the best possible service to our existing customers, and my goal is to ensure we replicate that with every new customer, wherever they are.

“Our particular expertise in handling ecommerce shipments into the US is something we want to bring to new markets, as the incredible growth in global ecommerce is showing no signs of slowing down.”

According to an analysis by ECDB, global ecommerce revenue in 2025 will hit US$5 trillion, 70% of which is accounted for by the US and China.

The UK is the world’s third largest ecommerce market.

Matthew Ware concluded: “The ability to import and export reliably and efficiently underpins the global marketplace. With its strong emphasis on flexibility and customer service, Mark 3 is very well placed to capitalise on the growing demand for a reliable, trusted, and best-value logistics partner.

“The world is now our oyster.”
