Konecranes supplying advanced crane systems to support aircraft maintenance operations at Malaysia’s Subang Airport

Jun 13, 2025

Konecranes is supplying an integrated crane system to Impeccable Vintage Properties (IVP), a subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad responsible for infrastructure development at Subang Airport in Malaysia. The system, which was ordered in 2024, will be installed in Hangar 3 at the IVP Complex within the airport later this year or in early 2026.

The supply includes two tele-platform units, five suspension crane bridges, two service trolleys, crane runways and power supply lines, all engineered to support the demanding requirements of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations. The tele-platforms, with a lifting capacity of 500 kg, and the service trolleys, capable of handling loads up to 10 tons, are designed to travel along crane bridges. These bridges are equipped with latching mechanisms that enable seamless movement across bays.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Konecranes to install a state-of-the-art tele-platform system at our IVP Complex in Subang Airport. With Konecranes’ proven expertise and advanced technology, we’re integrating a robust solution that enhances accessibility and safety while supporting efficient MRO operations,” said Mohd Fuad Sharuji, Chief Executive Officer, Impeccable Vintage Properties (IVP). “We’re confident this collaboration will set a new benchmark for innovation in aviation maintenance.”

“This delivery highlights Konecranes’ capabilities in challenging and unique environments such as aerospace MRO,” said Dinesh Nair, Country Director, Industrial Service & Equipment, Konecranes Material Handling (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. “Our crane systems, including tele-platforms, are engineered for precision and performance in demanding applications. We value the opportunity to support IVP in advancing Malaysia’s position as a regional aerospace hub.”

A strong focus on customers, commitment to business growth, and continuous improvement make Konecranes a material handling industry leader. This is underpinned by investments in digitalization and technology, as well as efforts to make material flows more efficient with solutions that decarbonize the economy and advance circularity and safety.
