KENC supports GustoMSC in detailed engineering on “Wind Orca Crane” upgrade

Mar 15, 2023

In May 2022, KENC Engineering was awarded an engineering job by GustoMSC. KENC has now successfully completed the assignment which entailed detailed engineering support for the new heavy lift crane of Cadeler’s jack-up vessel Wind Orca.

KENC supported GustoMSC with design and engineering work for the secondary steel (stairs, platforms, access to maintenance locations) of the boom and A-frame of the crane. With this strategic upgrade, Cadeler strengthens its position in the growing offshore wind market. The Wind Orca has now a total lifting capacity of 1600mT, compared with a previous capacity of 1200mT.

Sibren Bonte, Engineering Manager at GustoMSC: We look back at a very pleasant project with KENC. Thanks to our joint expertise we were able to finalize the work in the target time and within budget.
