Kellaway honored with International Maritime Hall of Fame Award

Jul 14, 2025

RoadOne IntermodaLogistics, a nationwide single source intermodal, warehouse, and logistics services company, announces today that its Co-Founder, Chairman, CEO and President, Ken Kellaway, received the International Maritime Hall of Fame Award on May 21st at the Maritime Association of the Port of New York and NJ Awards Ceremony.

The International Maritime Hall of Fame Lookout Award is one of the industry’s most prestigious honors that is presented to visionaries who have made a significant impact on the industry and are shaping the future of maritime. Ken was nominated for this award by his long-time business associate and friend, Jim Newsome. Jim is the former President of Hapag-Lloyd and the former President of the Port of Charleston, and had the honor to introduce Ken for the award on his special night.

Ken has been a transformative entrepreneur and pioneer in the intermodal trucking, logistics, and maritime industry for the last 38 years. After graduating from Babson College in 1987 with his MBA, he joined his father Ken Sr and took over his family’s 3rd generation public warehousing business. This quickly became the platform to launch Kellaway Transportation, Inc. and begin his mission to re-define and dominate the drayage space in the Northeast. With David McLaughlin soon coming on board as Ken’s Partner in 1994, this team was set to position Kellaway Transportation for significant long-term success.

Over the decades, the company was later rebranded as RoadOne IntermodaLogistics and it grew to become a nationwide leader in the intermodal logistics industry by adding locations, new logistics service offerings, and through over 40 key regional acquisitions.

A particularly worthy endeavor has been Ken’s role as a steadfast advocate for drivers stressing the need for fair treatment, pay and improved working conditions. To illustrate, the RoadOne driver program includes consistent freight, comprehensive benefits, safety and recognition programs, and great lanes & opportunities where drivers can be home with their families every night.

“My father has always led with vision, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to doing what’s right, for his people, his partners, and the industry. His recognition by the International Maritime Hall of Fame reflects the respect he’s earned over decades of leadership and innovation in logistics. I’m proud to follow in the footsteps of a man who not only built a successful company, but also a business grounded in fairness, trusted relationships, and long-term value,” said Kendall Kellaway III, Senior Vice President, Commercial, RoadOne IntermodaLogistics.

Ken's innovative vision extends well beyond RoadOne. In 2021, he co-founded Kinimatic, a tech forward leader in warehousing, distribution, and eCommerce fulfillment, a business that compliments the needs of RoadOne’s customers. In addition, he co-founded EDRAY, a collaborative port logistics platform designed to address pressing challenges in today’s port logistics operations.
