Imperial supports initiatives to provide help to people

The Logistics International business of Imperial, a DP World Company, has once again supported several social projects and charitable organisations with its Christmas donations this year. Accident protection for children, combatting poverty and providing help to people who are terminally ill are the major focus of the donation projects. The company, which has its headquarters in Duisburg, distributed EUR 20,000 to four organisations and projects, which are helping people, at the end of the year.

For example, Imperial Logistics International has donated EUR 5,000 to the Aktion Kinder-Unfallhilfe e. V. (Accident Assistance for Children Campaign), which is based in Hamburg. The association has its roots in an initiative launched by the road transport industry. It helps young victims of accidents and promotes a wide variety of projects related to road safety.

The company has also donated EUR 5,000 to the Freundeskreis Kinderpalliativzentrum Datteln e. V. (Group of Friends Organisation of the Children’s Palliative Centre in Datteln). The Group of Friends seeks to attract more care facilities at the palliative centre for the children who are suffering from life-threatening diseases.

The Malteser Hospizzentrum St. Raphael (St Raphael Hospice Centre) in Duisburg is pursuing a similar goal. Terminally ill people and their family members find care and support there during the final phase of their lives.

Imperial Logistics International in Belgium has donated the same amount to the “The Warmest Week” project. The VRT television broadcaster always launches a donation campaign during the Christmas period and it was entitled “The battle against poverty” in 2022.

“We must not lose sight of people, who are facing hardship for various reasons, and will not do so in future either,” says Wolfgang Kortus, CHRO at Imperial Logistics International, making a firm promise. “Humanitarian assistance forms an integral part of Imperial’s ESG strategy,” Kortus added. He quoted the humanitarian commitment to the SOS Children’s Village in Kecskemét in Hungary as one example of this. This involvement will be continued in 2023.
